More About eagle

Real name Colin ; Eagleicol .But seems like everybody has shortened that to eagle so I've decided to go with it and changed my profile name to simply Eagle.

A bass player by trade, been playing for over 50 years, made a few 45s back in the day, and toured with bands around UK and Europe. Lots of Blues and R&B. Still recording original albums with friends and playing solo here on the Jelly.

Been writing songs for best part of 40 odd years, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Don't seem to write love songs, well maybe the odd one or two but mostly they're songs about people, situations, places and the happy side of life, So don't expect heartrending stuff from me, although I may just slip the odd one in for flavour.

Livin the dream, wife and me bought a sailboat to cruise the Caribbean, on a shoestring, gigging where I can, can't get on SJ as much as I would like net not always good, but visit as audience often.Love SJ.

Thanks for c
Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

The only time I played on the street was with my best mate Ewan, a lifelong busker, we played for 20 years in a band, well various bands. Whne it was Bob Dylans 60th birthday we set up in the local town square and set about trying to play 60 of Bobs tunes. Between us we knew quite a few and with the help of a book of Dylans lyrics we managed about 45 I think before the market closed.

my playing career though has always been on stage, or in the corner of a pub, blues bands mostly but I write a lot of my own songs and so have spent a lot of time in original bands and doing solo stuff. Been on the road all over Europe and the UK since 1966, long time, done most of what I set out to do/be a musician by trade, putting on shows, playing pantos, Irish bars, and now Streetjelly which I would love to play more but the internet is so slow in my adopted home in the Dominican republic or on our sailboat that I can't perform as much as I would like but love the crack with friends in the chat roo

Embarrassing Moment

Far too many to mention
Scheduling two performances on Street Jelly, getting all set up and ready to rock when on both occasions we had a tremendous thunder storm and the power and the internet were cut off. Hate being late for a gig but to not show up at all well that's embarrassing.

Just heard from our old Roadie in 66 how we were supporting the Kinks at our local hall. We wanted to make a quick getaway at the end of the gig so ulled all our gear off stage. The last thing we needed was our mains plug board. The Kinks were in full flight when we unplugged our board. Dead silence, they had plugged into our board, whoops, sorry Ray, and I was always a big Kinks fan, maybe he's not one of mine. I'd completely forgotten this, so thanks Alan Smith for reminding me,
