More About BoogieBeau
Started playing keyboard late in life (58) as a retirement pastime in 2009. After trying a few keyboards I settled on the Yamaha Serires S90XS which has drum, bass and rhythm patterns to play and sing along with. I've been working on a list of old classic hits mostly from 60's and 70's. Don't know if I'll ever play in a real band but would like to try it some day. For now I'm happy to be my own OMBA (one man band act). The more I learn about music the more I realize there is so much I don't know. I enjoy watching the how to play piano lessons on YouTube and have made a few dozen myself. I've been a subscriber/student of the web site www.pianowithwillie.com for a few years. I've published four CD albums the most recent titled "4th and 15" which has 15 original songs all composed etc. by myself. Free lead sheets can be found on my blog site at boogiebeau.com. Would love to hear some Jellies play my songs.

My Instrument
My first electronic keyboard was a $55 Casio I got on EBAY. I then had and divorced several keyboards over a period of about four years. Then l met the S90XS in 2013. For now I'm sticking with the Yamaha S90XS which is now like two generations old in terms of Yamaha technology. One pro is because it has been around near 10 years good used ones can be found. Also third party software and DAW interfaces are mature. It's only con is it is a heavy little girl, about 61 pounds, add a 25 pound wheeled case and it's a real back breaker. I hate the key action on boards with non weighted keys but I really need to start playing one regularly.
